Program:
Tonight instead of a program, we had a “practice” reverse raffle and
training session. George Bufkin and
Ed McGannon explained to the rest of us the rules of a reverse raffle.
Then we practiced with $0.50 and $1.00 sideboards.
The money raised from the sideboards replaced the money normally
collected by the Sgt @ Arms for the
students.
George Bufkin,
Ed McGannon and Brad Grubb sold 90 tickets by themselves!
They worked extremely hard on this fundraiser and encouraged members to
sell the remaining tickets. Rod
Cook ran with this and sold tickets to the tables as group tickets.
Great thinking Rod!!
Reverse
Raffle Preview:
Friday night was a lot of fun at the Reverse Raffle.
We did have some remaining tickets at the beginning of the night, but
with some discounting and creative ideas, all of the tickets were sold.
Tickets were sold at the door to ticketholders for $30 if they wanted
another chance to win the big money... Some tables had people pitch in and
shared tickets to better their chances... Some people paid $10 to play poker and
win another ticket in the hand (great idea from Leo, Andrea’s fiance).
The main board ended up being split between
the last 5 people, as did one of the $5 side boards.
The $10 board was split between 3 people.
More details to follow….
