Sergeant
@ Arms: Rod Cook served as
our substitute Sgt @ Arms. He
contributed $1 for name badges. Other
dollars were collected for: the beautiful day, Sobo’s picture in the paper,
auction recognition, good company, missed meetings, new members, the great
Citizen of the Year Ceremony, the Fireside Chat, Linda’s hard work and the
Golf Committee, seeing Bill Breck again, Brad and those helping with the
exchange, Bob B’s son batting .500, no news, Rod’s great job, never running
out of new members, Dr. Thiru visiting from India, visiting Tom Block, the
speakers, DC trip with the Exchange Students, leaving early, Ralph and Kevin’s
souvenirs from DC (they looked so cute in them!!), the students, Rotary being 50
years old, both of Rick’s children getting straight A’s, those who helped
with the highway clean-up, the award from ODOT for our service, Jochen being at
the meeting, Rick as a prospective member, John Jeandrevin lending Hall dollars,
general principles, John J’s trip to FL to see daughter, son-in-law and new
grandson, the 15 bags of trash picked up by the super team of Kristin See, John
Jeandrevin and Hall Cary, those who helped Brian get his boots off, Cinzia for
her wonderful job on Citizen of the Year, being late, Rich B’s mother who is
in the hospital, Steve Klein’s 50 years in Scouting.
District
Conference: May 8th, 9th, and 10th
May
8th: Our
Club will attend the District Conference as our regularly scheduled Thursday
night meeting. If
enough people commit to attend, transportation will be arranged.

for you. You need to register by April 30th, so see Quine right
away. Don't make him call you, he knows where you live.
Service
Opportunity:
On May 17th,
we will be having a “Clean-up the Square Day" and clean-up at Camp
Paradise. Sign-up sheets will be
circulating at the meetings.

would prefer to have your Beehive mailed to you, (at a cost of 50 cents per

Volunteers
needed for Project Munch: May
is already taken care of, but volunteer opportunities are available for June.
The June dates are from Sunday, June 22 through Saturday, June 28.
There are two shifts- from 2 to 4 p.m. (Cooking and preparing the meal)
and from 4- 6 p.m. (Serving and cleaning up).
Anyone interested can see Kristin See to
schedule their shift, or they can call Sue at 330-722-6488
Rotary
Shirts:
John Sobotincic is still taking orders for shirts.
The order will go in the second week of May.
Benefit
Golf Outing:
This year’s Golf Outing will be held on June 16th at Fox
Meadows. The cost is $140 to
participate and it will be a scramble format.
The committee is now planning and working hard.
Ask Linda Radencic what you can do to help.
New
Member Speeches: Tonight
we learned a little more about some of our new members (and no so new).
Dayne Wendling: Has is BS in
Accounting and interned with the CIA, NCB and American Express.
He now works as a financial advisor with Hudson Financial Advisors and is
working on his Master of Science in Finance.
He is married to Kim and has 2 daughters.
He enjoys playing softball, jogging and boating.
He joined Rotary so he could give back to the community and help
worthwhile causes.
Hall Cary: Has been on a
lifetime search to find what is worth doing and is still waiting to see what he
will do when he grows up. He had
much to share and only 4 minutes to summarize 74 years.
His business purpose is to give people a creative outlet. Music has always meant a great deal to Hall, and he shared a
song with us on a guitar that he built himself.
Melanie Hillebrand: Works as
a Group Service Representative for a Third Party Administrator.
She is widowed and has 2 step-children.
She also has 4 dogs and loves to travel.
Cinzia Rolling: Is
originally from Boston and has her Bacheloer of Science/Finance.
She had an exciting career in the Corporate World that included a lot of
moving. Now her husband, Chris and
herself havve a Geographic Information Systems business.
She has one daughter. She
enjoys mountain biking, snow boarding, photography and do-it-yourself projects.
David Ruebensaal: David has
a 7 year old daughter and owns Mason’s Meat Market.
He had worked there for many years and bought if from the former owner
(paperwork and all!). David joined
Rotary to help others.
Kristen See: is an officer in the Salvation Army and an ordained
minister. She was ordained in 1998
and sent to Ecuador and then tranferred to Massachusetts.
In May 2002 Krisitin was transferred to Medina.
As a child she moved to Buenos Aires with her parents (who were
missionaries) and her father was in Kiwanis.
She liked the people involved and decided that she would join a good
organization as an adult.
Ellen Magdefrau: Has
traveled a lot and lived in many areas. Ellen
confessed that she lived in Wisconsin for some time and is a BIG Green Bay
Packers fan. She has been back in
OH for 9 years. She has 3 children
with the youngest being an adopted child. She
shared how great that experience has been and how it has helped her to make a
difference.
Rod Cook: Has a Bachelor of
Science/Aviation and loves to fly. He
comes from an Insurance Family and used to be a Aviation Insurance Adjustor and
Casino Liability Claims Adjustor. He
has been married 18 years and has 2 children.
He currently is an Insurance Sales person.
Rod was a member of the Ravenna Rotary Club previously and is very
impressed with how much our club does.
Kevin Gifford:
Has been married 21 years and is from the Akron area. He used to work for Acme Click at nights and began attending
auctions during the day. Eventually
he became a dealer and was encourage by others to become an Auctioneer.
He tried it and has done very well.
