the Dow and Nas both had good increases today, retail salesw dropped 1.6%
in February, President Bush is open to delaying UN Iraq vote, Senate ok’s
partial abortion ban with a 64-33 vote, France rejects Britain’s proposed Iraq
plan, Elizabeth Smart enjoyed her first nate at home, the House ok’s limits on
malpractice awards to $250,000 for non-economic damages, South Korea pushes
North to hold talks, Christopher Reeve can now breathe for 2 hours without a
respirator with the new electrodes in his diaphragm, a California man is held
for assault on a man he met in Anger Management classes.

Holly’s
Angels: Lori Reihs and Lori
Dominguez are both residents of Medina who participate in a 26.2 mile marathon
to raise awareness of leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease and myeloma.
In 2001 they raced as Emma’s Angels.
This year they are racing as Holly’s Angels.
Holly Shanaberger was a resident of Medina who died of non-Hodgkin’s
lymphoma in January 2002. Holly
left behind a husband and 4 children.
Every 9
minutes someone dies from Leukemia. The
Leukemia & Lymphoma Society is a national non-profit health organization
dedicated to finding cures for these diseases.
Team in Training is a comprehensive endurance training program that
benefits the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
Everty TNT participant will be training and raising funds for their race.
Lori and Lori’s race is on June 1st in the San Diego Rock
& Roll Marathon. Their
requirement goal to attend the race is $8,000.
All donations go to the L&L Society.
A minimum of 75% of funds sraised directly benefits research and patient
care.

Don Rossman dollars for Sobo’s granddaughter being christened, the
guests, the Cavs game that they almost won, leaving early, the good of the
cause, Darrell’s picture in the paper, missed meetings, the membership
directory, Darlene’s 21st anniversay of her 19th
birthday, Kevin G. going to the morning meeting and ending up at a Homeland
Security Meeting, focusing on the positive things in life, Darrell and Kevin’s
silver tongues, Rotary Service, the Miss Medina program, guidance to the World
Leaders to take us through these tumultuous times, for local leaders to make
Medina County a great place for all its citizens, the Jr. Achievement
Bowl-a-thon, (April 12th – see Linda Radencic if you wish to play
on a team), warm weather, 3 days of sunshine while in FL for a week and a half,
John J’s and Hall’s dinner at the Main Street with 3 wonderful blondes
(Darlene, her son Nathan, and Sue K.), Barbara Webb who loves DC and sends her
best, Rod’s cruise to Alaska, Elizabeth Smart being found, Pat Norris
attending the meeting, the Auction, a milk bottle for Carl, a Thursday morning
Rotary breakfast meeeting that is in Brunswick, our great Club, Ron Quine’s
tick tock, Nancy who contributed $100 for the Cat’s Meow certificate at the
Auction which was more than her bid required, Ken speaking so long, Don Rossman
for co-chairing the Auction, Ed’s trip to Phoenix, everyone’s hard work at
the Auction, Don Spickler sitting with all his friends (thanks DJ for rescuing
him), Ron getting Parliamentary Procedure, Ron preferring function to form.

of the Year:
Cinzia Rolling has accepted the responsibility of overseeing this years
contest. Nomination Forms are still
available.
ODOT
Meetings:
Volunteers are needed to attend the 2 Safety Meetings by ODOT for our
Highway Cleanup Project. There will
be a meeting on March 22nd at 9:30 a.m. at the Medina County Garage.

District
Assembly:
Rotary District 6630
will be having our annual District Assembly at Kent State Univ. on March 22nd.
It runs from 8:00am to shortly after lunch. All Club members are urged to
attend, especially incoming officers, Avenue of Service Chairs, Bulletin Editor
and new members. It is a good opportunity to learn more about what Rotary
does.

Program: Auction
Recognition was presented by Dan Watson. First
DJ auctioned off a few remaining items. Then

oral auction brought in about $7,000 from donated items

tickets, van rental, oil changes….), Delmo & Elaine Orlandi (a Florida
Condo), Guy James (James Lumber), Bob Berry (OSU tickets)
Club Members
who have contributed greatly through the years to the oral auction include Bob
Baisch, John Kanieski, Jane Lang, Kevin Wermer, Dale Laykun, Ben Hallock, Don
Spickler, Linda Radencic, Rich Bidinger and Mark Sutherland.
The
silent auction tables brought in about $4,200 in donated items
