Four-Way Speech Contest:  Tonight was the annual speech contest.  The Rotary 4-Way Test is a 24-word code of ethics thast was adopted by Rotary in 1943.  We had 3 contestants from Highland High School:  Ben Miller (sophmore), Katelyn Thewlis (junior), and Jonathon Harris (senior) who applied the 4-Way test to current issues.  Ben Miller spoke about music censorship.  Katelyn Thewlis spoke about fashion and labeling.  Jonathon Harris spoke about the current war in Iraq.  Each contestant did a good job putting their topic to the test.

Jonathon Harris won first place in the contest and will compete at the District level on April 12th.  **A  Rotarian is needed to represent our club and attend the competition with Jonathon.**

Medina County Public Library:  Mike Harris spoke briefly about the 1 mill Bond Issue that will be on the May 6, 2003 ballot.  He passed out an informative brochure about the Library system and gave us some good facts.

Fireside chat:  Rich Bidinger will be hosting a "Fireside Chat" at 6:00pm on April 17th at Rustic Hills Country Club.  It will be held downstairs at the Club.  The following new members, hopefully, should attend:  Hall Cary, Rod Cook, Kevin Gifford, Jim Hunter, Dr. Tammy Korylko-Carny, Cinzia Rolling, Kristin See, Dayne Wendling, Ellen Magdafrau, and David Ruebensaal.  Any one else who is interested is welcome to attend.
